Those look like some version of the Monitor 7s. And are worth that and a bit more if they're in good condition. Looks like one of the woofers may need surrounds?

Might have to replace tweeters? Don't know.

I know Comfortablycurt owns a pair and he loves them. A number of others here do as well. If you're willing to tweak them a bit that's a good price.

    Anyone else...

Hm...I believe those are Monitor 7C's, with SL1000 tweeters. Anyone correct me if that's wrong.

It says one of them has a bad mid-woofer...which is a big drawback. You'd likely have to replace both of them, because one new one and one old one would probably sound a bit unbalanced together.

60 bucks isn't a bad price...but the blown MW is a huge drawback. Personally, I'd pass.

You could pick them up and replace the MW's though, and have a nice sounding pair of speakers.

cnh-Mine are a little different than that. Mine are 7A's with Peerless tweets, I'm pretty sure those ones are 7C's with SL-1000 tweets. Similar, but still a bit different.

They are great sounding speakers though. IMO, one of the best choices out there for speakers in the 100 dollar range. You couldn't find anything better for that price new.

I'm pretty sure the SL1000 was discontinued before the Cs came out.

Am I wrong about those being SL-1000's?

I'm almost positive they're 7C's...here's a page on polkSDA.com showing a pair that looks just like this, scroll down and you can see the serial numbers on them. They say 7C.

I'm not positive on the cost of the MW's...I've seen them go on ebay for around 40 dollars a pair, used.

Call Polk customer service at the number at the top of this page and they can tell you what they'd cost. Mention that you're a Club Polk member for a discount.;)

The MW's that you need should be the MW-6502. You may want to pull one of them first and check the part number on the back of the driver though. Polk is infamous for having several odd transitional models that used different parts.

I think MW are about $45-$50 new from Polk. That looks like a pretty good deal. Hell, offer him 50 bucks and see what happens.
Those look to be some early model 7's. They have the Polk emblem mounted on the little "shelf" below the grill. I had a pair of 7B's with the Peerless tweets, and the grill went the full height of the speaker. I would guess they are early A models, but not sure.

Woah, I brain farted on this one. I think Curt is right. Maybe some EARLY C's. they have the 1000's AND they are fused. Later 7C's were fuseless. Still kinda curious about the emblem placement. I was sure that style was limited to earlier models, all models. Of course, I have been wrong before. Just ask my X wife.

Who knows. They did so many variations on just about every line up, it's VERY hard to keep up with them all. I'm probably wrong.:o Those are SL1000s, though.
