Technokid, regarding DH forums... their moderators suck! their way of rigidly moderating the threads (i.e. moving the posts wherever they feel like) sucks! and most of all, the owner (hugh) and stampeder suck even more! Very good knowledge for all your digital requirements! It may seem rigid at first but you realize in the long run that it pays off! Serious discussion about technology! I have been a member for close to 2 years now, made a couple mistakes in my first month and since there never has been any issues. Go back with a good attitude and I am convinced you will benifit from itToronto, ON!

Anyway hi there in Toronto! I find this is a good part of forums, you get to know some good people without even moving around
Canada was getting a little small and now we find some other good "virtual" Canadians travellers here in the US, home of Polk's speakers!
Cheers

Aren't we all foreiners in our own country?
I have been in Gatineau for over 20 years but mainly raised on the South Shore of Montreal! When I think about it, I was born in Limoilou Quebec... and as a former military, I travelled quite a bit in Canada. Lovely Vancouver, gorgeous Alberta... Eh, I even spend close to half a year in Valleyo California! I am a Canadian... of the world!:D DARE TO SOAR:

Not to sound too much off-topic, but I'll never go back to that forum, whatever useful info it presents, and will not recommend anyone going there, given the moderators/owners attitude. I have had some personal e-mail exchange with the forum owner, which left me really bitter with the way he runs that forum.
Yes, obviously, there are some certain individuals on that forum, who are very knowledgeable in what they do (and a couple of them live literally around the corner from me), but it's the same as on any other forum.
IMHO, their home theater /audio sections are not much better than on other forums. I used to go to OTA television forum quite a bit and offered genuine help, but it really ended after altercation with their mods.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

I respect that and it looks like you are doing pretty well here. I hope you have a good general digital forum to complement your knowledge surfing. Anyway, will surely meet again on occasions on this forum. Right now, I am surfing between the 2 as I felt I could use a little more knowledge of my Polk products. However, not to much on the Polk entry level, mainly Hard Core stuff on the forum (just tempting but I can not afford!).Not to sound too much off-topic, but I'll never go back to that forum, whatever useful info it presents, and will not recommend anyone going there, given the moderators/owners attitude. Audio and cars being my main hobbies - that's the forums I try to participate on. Polk, Carver, AVS, Canuckaudiomart - mostly those. Club 300m for cars
.
By the way, XA2 and BD-P1200 have the same upconverting chip in them, so I am quite happy with upconversion from both units
. And both of them came from the same Club Polk member, LOL. Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

Not surprised to see your comment, the XA2 has been known to be the best player from the HDDVD series. The up-conversion is top on this player but expensive at that. I do you find you dealing for gear at club Polk? What I mena the $$$ exchange and border difficulties and probably delivery extra $$$ too. I have yet seen some great deals but their $$$ and mine makre it difficult plus the distance problems don't seem to make it worthwhile???DARE TO SOAR:

Moderation makes it just much more civilized as far as I am concerned. Here we are pretty much left alone but I am sure you've noticed the Polk Gods clicks rules. So, I guess it is just a matter of what one prefers... civilized or war zone!Digitalhome is one I venture over to as well. Nice to know, it could usefull at times if you someone could pin point this out however, the goal of being on the Polk forum is to learn as much as possible about their products, technology and it would be limiting that knowledge if one was not surfing on the international level. Afterall, there's such knowledge on the forum and spiffy set-up that simply makes one dream . Canadians sounding off is fine and cool but I don't think forming a click would be positive. There is a group for Canadians on this forum, although I don't remember who organized it and how to access it

By the way, the new season has just started so if you can stock-up in order to avoid the fake stuff later in the year. BTW, on the news they were talking about some chineese fake which would be using sort of fermented rice so beware!Agreed, I can not eat waffles with the fake stuff ! There's also GV#27 near Peterborough, but he hasn't posted in the thread yet. -
