TV tuner allows to take over the air signal or cable signal for TV and with software, record and playback shows that you choose to record. You can save the shows for playback later on your computer, or with the appropriate hardware and networking, you can distribute the shows to your main TV or elsewhere in your house.

Lasareth, of course i REQUIRE closed captioned ( even its not subtitled feature and different category of subtitling [21 lines])

I dont know if Closed captioned will work, I have to research on this first before i decide to buy. I believe Subtitles would work with dvd because its already encoded on the disc. But, will TV programs relay Closed Captioned [21 Lines], that is a good question!! ????!!!

Tv tuner cards , if they are duel head with tv out can also be hooked up to you a/v reviever, then to the tv. You could download movies, tv shows etc from the net and play them to you H/T set up. I do this all the time.
