would 2 velodyne vx-10 subs or 1 velodyne spl 1000 series II sound better ?
i can get 2 new vx 10 or 1 used spl for the same price. with route for better sound. %50/50 for ht and music or can i get better for $300 price range?
i also have a yamaha rx v663 which has 2 sub outputs, dont know if that matters
thanks

The obvious solution is to get two wild subs
But if that is not an option, I would opt for having one good sub since it will be much easier to integrate into your room; you won't be having to compensate for cancellations of the waves from each sub. Having two mediocre subs can give higher output than just one alone, but chances are even then they would match the sound quality of the better sub.KEF Q150 | Rythmik F12 | Yamaha Aventage RX-A780 -
I recommend a single 1000R over two VX 10s. But, what about two 800Rs?____________________________________________

You may be able to match or exceed the output of a single sub with two lesser ones, but you would not be able to match the sound quality and extension. My vote is to go with one wild.

If he had to identical subs, how could that be a problem?

Were you replying to me? I'm saying for example... 2x$300 subs would never match a 1x$600 sub in sound quality and extension

Not exactly, I was thinking he'd go with 2 X 5 or 600 dollar Velodynes, guess I misread the model numbers. He did say 300.
I agree there.
