I have an RT5000 set that is in decent shape and I am thinking about selling it. What is the best way to go about it. Also any ideas on what something like this should sell for today? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also I am trying to sell them in Chicago, not sure if that makes any difference. I could also add the Onkyo TXDS 777.

Yes I have heard of Ebay, but these speakers are monsters and I do not want to have to ship them.

There's this online auction site called "ebay" Have you heard of it? You go there and list the item you have for sale in an auction. People bid on it. The highest bidder wins. Here's the link.

    Good luck!

Audiogon is also a good place to sell speakers... if you list there be sure to mention they are for local pick up only.

tough to price your speakers.. they don't come up for sale very often.

general rule though for used stereo gear I have been told is around 1/4 to 1/3 of original price. *of course depending on how valuable they are, the demand for them, and condition all play into their value.

sorry I can't give you a dollar figure, because I know that's exactly what you want. Check Ebay and Audiogon for maybe some kind of reference.

another good resource is the audio Blue Book... that's just a reference again, but might give you an idea on what they are selling for now.

Thanks Danger Boy, I hadn't really heard of those sites, and will check them out. I looked around on ebay and such, but I have not really seen too many people selling these speakers.

Ebay has the option for local pickup only. It's under the shipping options
