Hi all. I’m starting a second set up for 2 channel. I’m looking for speaker suggestions for an old hk 730 twin receiver that I just picked up. I want some small to mid sized bookshelves in $100-$150 range. Can anybody recommend a few classic makes and models from back in the day that would be a good match?

While I’d prefer something from the same vintage, feel free to suggest any recent classics that would offer bang for the buck.

They’re bigger than my ideal size, but I’d have hard time passing up on some nice monitor 7s or 10s.

Thanks.

Polk and H/K go great together. H/K's high current amp section is just what Polk's love. If you can find some Monitor 7's, that'd be the way to go, imo. RTA 8T(L)s, though taller than the 7s(but smaller footprint)would be good too. Monitor 5 or 5jrs are probably in your size range. There's a few to look for.

    Good Luck.
