I have a pair of 7b's that I am going to repair, one has some fairly bad external damage but can be salvaged. I am considering using them as rear surrounds on the ht, the mains are 15'tl's and the center is a carver unit. Will these do o.k. for that purpose and how close will I be on the timber match being that the 7's have the peerless, and the 15's have the sl 3000. Also do you think that at some point that I should change my center over to a polk unit? The carver sounds decent but as time has passed it seems to me to be a bit weak and I have to crank up the volume setting for it to be heard, but even after that it still seems lacking. Wonder if it could be my reciever, it is a pioneer unit that has just turned 10 and was not a high end unit. Or if it's just me?Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

I have been living with them for now, I am getting another cabinet from f1 this week that has way less damage to replace the one that has the big chunks out of it. I have to give a big shout out to f1 he has really helped a bro out. I am thinking about using the old cab as a possible center channel under the big screen, I figure I can just fill the corners in and paint it black to match the t.v. Should prove to be a fun project. But I am still thinking about finding a polk center to use until I get time to do the big center. Good to hear from you russ.

I'm not sure what input you want. The tweeters aren't the same - some would argue that is a bad thing. Both speakers are Polks, however, that is a good thing. I'd think the 7Bs would serve nicely as surrounds. I use 7Cs as mains.
