The early RTA 12B would have come with an American made black Peerless marked 5514----. This is a different tweeter then the very early 12s which came with a unit made in Denmark ( marked 7514___)but looks exactly the same. The later 12Bs (late 83 and 84 ) would have come with the silver faced SL1000. Looks just like the Peerless but is silver with a clear dome. It has a more transparent and open sound then the Peerless but might be bright for some people. I have used both in mine and have no problem with either. You could use any of the 3 listed with no mods to the cutout but they will sound different. Also the newer RD194 can be used but would require slight modifcations to the cutout. Keith

The RTA 12's never came with SL2500's.
