I have found a person who has some pretty good deals on a Grant Fidelity A-34 Integrated tube amplifier. Does anyone here have any experience with this amp? If so what do you think about it? I am thinking about getting this to use in a two channel set-up with some SDAs, a phonograph, and a good quality CD player (maybe SACD). How do you think this would match with SDAs? The seller rants and raves about this amp, but he is trying to sell it. I would like to here Club Polk Members' opinions on it. Thanks in advance for your response.

You have to be very careful as there is a couple of mega Factories in China that pump out tube amps all day long and many companies simply buy wholesale from China and put their own stickers on the front and pretend they are something they are not.

Also depending on what -seller you buy from; the prices can really very for the same amp you are only paying more for the sticker on the front.

I would suggest sticking with some of the more established brands like Jolida or Cayin or Manley and avoid the no-name brands Chinese re-sellers.

This "company" is based out of Calgary, Alberta and is quite controversial up here. I believe all of their gear is rebranded Yaquin gear at a bigger price tag. There are rather heated threads about them and their business practices at

    Do some searches.

    Midnite Mick,

Thanks for the link. Seems like there is some interesting stuff to say about Grant Fidelity.

RT1, I have definitely noticed all of the killer tube gear you have and have heard. I am going to get in touch with you soon and find out what some good tube equipment should sound like. Work has been super busy, but I will make time soon! Thanks again to everyone.

He's local and I have seen some of his equipment in the two shops mentioned on his site. Haven't really listened to anything of his as my system is complete and I am not interested in tubed stuff. One shop is downtown several blocks away. Maybe I will wonder over tomorrow.

I don't really like calling it "his equipment" as he hasn't done anything. He doesn't design anything, build anything etc. It is just generic gear inside a different chassis. It may very well sound good but there are different brand names that have identical inners for cheaper.
