So, anyone know about this new laser TV? I may just have to run out to this store and check it out.

Sorry, if there already has been a thread about laser technology, did not want to search, so I just posted

That's the first i've heard of laser TV.
I've had Mitsubishi DLP's in the past, they make nice sets.
But the DLP's i've had were a little bulky and the lamps like to die sooner than later.
I'd be interested in checking out their new laser TV's, not buying one, but looking at one at least. -
I think I've heard something about this but I don't remember much. This is a DLP, I'm pretty sure of that so it must use a different light source to light it.
In any case the LED DLPs no longer have lamp burnout...and last 10s of thousands of hours of use. The light engines are also no longer those spinning wheels so there is no rainbow effect. Although still a bit thicker than a standard flat screen, this one lists a depth of 10". That's still thin and light enough and they consume less power.
Overall they're great sets....
Perhaps someone can explain how the lasers work with the new chips, here.

I posted something about it last year, but, no one seemed to care. IIRC, it was Mitsubishi that invented the tech. for it? All I remember was that, the only retailer that was even carrying them was Tweeter, and even then, it was a select few stores.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

The technology is supposed to be superior to LCD and plasma. But @ 7K  I'll wait. They just hit the market late last year.
7k ??? Hell no....or maybe thats the unit with the build in anti-theft device. You know, the one where someone try's to steal your TV and the laser fires backwards and cuts their head off.Now that might be worth the investment.HT SYSTEM-
