well my neighbor is upgrading his sub and is letting go of his velodyne spl 1000 for $270. is this a good deal? i heard it play for one song and was not impressed but i also looked up the retail and this thing retails over a $1000. so i figure this would be a good starter sub?

thanks

I'm sure it's at least a fair price, if not a good deal. It looks like a pretty good deal to me.

That's a steal at that price. Grab it. From what you detailed above...I would venture to say that your neighbor was way off in proper sub integration.

That's a great sub at that price I wouldn't even think twice. Lots of people haven't the faintest idea how to properly set up their subs. You should, perhaps borrow it if you can and spend a day integrating it into your system. You WON'T be disappointed. Lesser Velodyne subs than that sound great!

That sub retails for over 1000 dollars and has a 21.6 pound magnet structure and a 1000 watts RMS 2000 Peak...if it's an SPL-1000R, that is.
