Technics-SL-1700 table

Basically this is a 1200 with an auto pick up, when the record ends. I bought this....I don't even know back in the 70's maybe. I bought it because of the isolation. Because of the volume i play music at......it has worked perfectly for that. Nothing gets thru that table...it is completely isolated.

But all the wiring..is from the 70's......Not great RCA plugs, nore great stuff to connect the cartrage.

Has anybody tryed to upgrade this table to new wiring....or is it even worth the effort?

    The folks at KAB have kits to upgrade the wiring of the SL-1200, but I don't know if it would work with the 1700. My SL-1300 actually has pretty decent cables on it. I haven't bothered to mess with them since I only use if for dubbing vinyl.
