CSI A6 Placement... Need Help!!

Just about completed finishing off the basement have bought new tv and speakers for 7.1 surround.
My first question is... Where have most of you placed your CSI A6 center channel speaker? I don't plan on wall mounting my tv, I would like to have it on a tv stand but I am struggling to figure out where to place the speaker because it's so large.
I have been looking for tv stands similar to this one that would acommidate the speaker below the tv but haven't found one that I like or that would actually work. This particular stand is 64" and according to my math the 24" wide speaker still wouldn't fit in the center hole.

My second idea was to by a shelf, mount it to the wall just above the tv and then use the stand on the back of the speaker to point it downward.
Second question, I used low voltage electrical gang boxes for my surround speakers and planned on using bananna plug wall plates to transition to my FXI A4 speakers. Now that I have the speakers and have held them up against the wall I don't like how everything will connect. I don't want to see the white wallplates above, below or to the side of the speakers. I would like the speakers to cover the wallplates. So, would there be any harm in leaving the wallplates off, direct wiring to the speakers and hanging them such that the speaker covers the hole in the wall?
Thanks for your help!!

If you can't place it below the TV, you can try mounting it on the wall, right above the TV.
That's where i have it and it sounds fantastic. -
I have mine inside my tv stand right under my TV.

Questions for each of you.
1. Did you angle the speaker downward toward the seating or does it still sound good sitting above the tv?
2. Did you buy your speaker stand online where you could give me a link to one that might work or did you purchase it at a local store? Looking for a wood stand of some sort.
Thanks Again -
Angle the center toward ear height.
