I know that there has been a lot of discussions regarding this speaker but since it's so old I wanted to see what the latest information sounds like...Here is my current issue:

- The fuse blew-out and I need to find a replacement...I have heard a lot about different fuses and want to maximize this center channel.

- Current Power is a Marantz MA500 Mono Block 125watts...Is this enough power to make this thing go?

- The connections have been crossed with 1 high and 1 low and I have never feed the actual sub direct...I have a rear-sub and wondered if I should split that signal to feed the center?

Bottom line: If this was your center channel given what I have how would you get the most out of it? The thing is a beast and I want to keep it if at all possible...

Thanks in advance for your help

I always thought the CS-1000 was a really nice center. I don't think that splitting the sub/mid tweeter would make the sound all that much better. Just use the speaker inputs and adjust the subs output to your liking. I'm not quite sure on the sensitivity, but 125 watts should be plenty. Maybe others who own this one can chime in with their thoughts.

    Veeter,
I just found one of these myself and felt I needed it what with the 25ft ceilings in the area of the home theater. It sounds impressive but it is actually a small cabin with a loft. I had gotten tired of flogging my original center to fill the room with anything that sounded like a 'movie'. (2-4" mids weren't really designed for that)
If you have a sub, I would say don't bother with the sub line in, just keep the jumpers on and use your speaker connects to hook it up. I don't think you want those little subs and amps in it trying to be the star of the show, more of a 'augmenting' effect.
It is a monster and I almost blew out valued body parts lifting it the first time.:D My wife is totally in the dark on this one, and I am still trying to figure out a good story on it.

    let's see:

You found it? (you don't have to elaborate by saying on eBay or Craig's List...).

The other one is busted. If she wants to hear old one, when playing point out random sonic faults. Say things like "Hear that?" or "There. It happened again." Things like that. Sudden dramatic pointing helps too.

A good friend at work (somebody she will never meet) gave you a long term loan on this one?

Of course none of the above works if she notices the money gone and you don't want to weave a tangled web to account for it's absence too.... ;)
