    I haven't heard any of them, but i'm inclined to think the 4000 would be the best of the three.

    Like metal said, the 4000 would be the best of the 3. Any of them will work well though. If budget allows, I say go for the 4000.

    What is your room cubic feet including any large openings to other rooms and their Cubic feet.

    cf = HxWxL

    This will help determine a best recommendation. Polk might work for you but make sure you get the right one or you will be chasing LFE goodness and can't quite catch it.

    If you are buying one subwoofer go for the largest, and most powerful model in the Polk line. You have the option of turning the volume down on the subwoofer, which will make it run with less distortion with all that extra headroom. Cross the subwoofer over low, where it belongs, and the thing will disappear into a thing of beauty.:D

    Polk 4000 is a fine sub. But if you want to save some bucks spend that amount of money on a sub by Velodyne, SVS, HSU, etc. Companies that mostly 'do' subs, unless you're committed to Polk. In which case the 4000--if you can afford it!
