Does anyone have any experience with this player? I've read great reviews about it, but three out of the six reviews on Amazon are rated at one star claiming the reliability it terrible. Frequent lock-ups, freezing audio, and bad pixelation. However, this is the only reference I can find to the reliability of the unit. Everyone else seems to love it.
I'd love some input from someone who owns one or has experience with one.
Thanks!

I have its predecessor, the 2910 that I mainly use for 2 ch but have occasionally hooked it up for video. Mine was used and had some issues with not reading some disks. I have read of others having the same problem too. Mine was getting to the point that it was going to go in the shop or get rid of it. However, I was able to fix mine by cleaning the optic. With a silk lens cloth for cameras. It is now super.Stan

I have one with 0 problems.SRT For Life; SDA Forever!
The SRT SEISMIC System:
Four main satellite speakers, six powered subs, two dedicated for LFE channel, two center speakers for over/under screen placement and three Control Centers. Amaze your friends, terrorize your neighbors, seize the audio bragging rights for your state. Go ahead, buy it; you only go around once. -
If you are talking about a music machine you should move on, be done with this stuff and play with things more refined.

Given a more liberal budget and a wife willing to let me spend the money, I certainly would opt for something more refined. But I have got kids.Stan

Bump.
Vann's sells these open box all the time for $169.
Seems like it would make a great budget CD player for HDCD and SACD.
Any more opinions? -

That's a pretty good player....I recently heard the 2000 dollar Marantz CDP with a set of B&W bookshelves....no comment--I was not 'impressed', but I blame the B&Ws not the Marantz....

I'm running a Denon 2910 in my 2 channel rig...and it sounds fantastic. I'm yet to have any issues with it myself. I doubt I'll be upgrading my CDP again for a couple more years. It's really an excellent sounding SACD/Redbook player. Especially for the prices they can be found at.
I'm not sure of how the 2910 compares to the 2930 though. The nirvana inducer-
