Trying to cut back on some used inventory, so I've got the following for sale, if anyone is interested:

a) Yamaha S661 DVD - black - used for about 3 months $100 shipped

b) Cambridge Audio DVD89 DVD - black - used for about 3 months $125 shipped

c) Cambridge Audio S30 bookshelf speakers - maple - used for about a year $135 (excellent sounding bookshelf speakers-great for an office or bedroom-1 of the grille pins is broken, but they look very good otherwise.)

d) Cambridge Audio 540A integrated amplifier - silver- used for about 2 years $190 shipped. I've got some multiroom keypads for this as well if anyone is interested.

e) 40GB Apple TV. Purchased on January 7, 2009, so I'm too late to take it back to Best Buy.

The gem is the DVD89, as it is a universal player: SACD, DVD-A, and very good picture quality for standard DVD's. I've got one in my personal system, and it isn't going anywhere.

Pictures available upon request.

Reasonable offers will be considered, whether trade or purchase.

Paypal, check, MO is fine.

PM and then we can discuss things over the phone.
Tschüss

That Cambridge DVD89 is an excellent universal player. I've had one for about a month now...and I couldn't be happier with it. Excellent DVD playback, as well as a high quality DAC for excellent sounding CD/SACD reproduction.

That's a great price on it. Someone snag that up...you'll be very happy with it.:)

also, is this a version 1 or the current model version 2... and if it is a version 1 do you happen to know what is the difference between them?
    thanks!

It is the 540A V2. I don't think I've got the original box or manual for it anymore, but I do have the remote control.

PM me if you are interested in it.

Nice that it is a version 2.
I found out that the version 2 has some component upgrades over the version 1, and bumps up the power by 10w making it 60w per channel into 8 ohms.
But i also found out that though the unit has a pre-out it does not have a power-in. I need that loop for this gizmo called a 'kef cube' that is an active equalizer for the small kef reference 102's that i was thinking of pairing with it. Without the kube the speakers lack nice low end. Not sure how i could conenct it without pre-out/power-in loop.
    Thanks.

I don't know anything about the kefkube, except what I found here: http://www.kef.com/history/1990_1/kube200.asp and here http://cgi.ebay.com/KEF-KEFKUBE-KUBE-107-ACTIVE-EQUALIZER-PERFECT-COND_W0QQitemZ200274093417QQcmdZViewItemQQptZSpeakers_Subwoofers?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

I'm not sure what the power-in is though, unless you are talking about the power supply for the kube. Anyway, just let me know if it might work for you. It is a great sounding little amp for the money.

i may be using the wrong words to describe it, but many integrated amps, as well as higher end receivers have pre-amp output and power-amp inputs. they let you use the integrated device as just a pre-amp or just a power-amp, or, when patched through, as a single integrated amp. that is the loop that the kefkube is ideally inserted, before amplification. i suppose a tape loop could be used but that is an ugly solution and confusing to have the selector on tape monitor rather than the actual input source, and have to use the record selector as the source selector... but i think i may have another use for the 540a, let me think about it a couple of days. regards,

Apple TV, 540A, and Yamaha DVD are all available, at the moment.

I'll take $170 for the Apple TV if anyone wants it. $180 will get a 2m Ultralink HDMI cable thrown in with it.

I'm out of the running on this Zach, good luck and if it's FS in a couple weeks I might revist the idea. Just bought a new pre-amp which I couldn't pass up.

    Thanks

I have been auditioning my brother's Adcom gfp750. I passed on the recent Aleph "L" on ebay. He bought a new BAT pre amp for the BAT amps he got from Ted (RT1) so I bought his GFP750. It's already in my rig. :), easy deal.

Now I need to sell some stuff as well for replenish some funds.

Payment sent for the 540a. Looking forward to receiving it.
I guess that just leaves the Yamaha S661 DVD still for sale.
    Thank you.

Chris was a pleasure to speak to as well. I may have a local use for the Yamaha, so that isn't a big deal.

With things sold, bills will be a little easier to pay.
