I am looking to upgrage my system. Right now a have a Sony XA3ES CD and a Adcom GTP-400 pre amp.

The Sony cd player at the time..was one of the best......now i'm looking at the Jolidia JD-100A. This seems to be a no brainer....from what i've read the ES..just can not come close to the JD. But any input is good.

The preamp....is another story. The GTP is not good..but not bad also.

I was looking to up grade to some type of hybrid.....was looking at the Vincent Audio SA-31....can't find a lot of reviews on this....nothing comes out as bad...at least for the price.

Probelm is it has no phono stage. Which means I have to buy a phono preamp such a Creek, or something along those lines..it also has no headphone outlet.

Anybody know about this preamp?.....

I believe service/warranty work is an issue with those. Something about having to send it back to China.

Vincent? That sounds familiar to me as well, but damn if I can remember where I read it...

Vincent is Chi-fi. You can sometimes find the same components under less popular names for less money. That alone would bother me.

The POINT is that Jolida services their products here in the US. Vincent, Bada, etc. do not. Do you want to pay to ship a product back to China? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Don't get me wrong as I'm not a proponent of this, but shipping to and from China is not as difficult or expensive as it may sound.

My wife collects and sometimes resells cloisonne vases, bowls and plates (about 500 pcs in the collection so far so I guess it's mostly collecting :) ). We've been buying direct from several suppliers in China and the shipping is not much different than shipping from here in Ohio out to the the left coast of the US or vice-versa. The stuff is heavy (glass coated brass, bronze or copper) and fragile, and the shipping is generally within 10-12% (higher) of US coast to coast rates.

I just bought a PS Audio GCPH pre and I cringed when I saw that it was made in china. They actually try to make you feel better by writing that it is designed in the US, small consolation...

Well, as far as I know Vincent Audio is a german company, a subdivision of Thorens. The designs are German, but subed out to china for manufacture, as so much of everything is today.
I believe any warrenty issues are handled by the seller, in this case Audio Advisor, which has been around for quite a while.

I have not talked to them about this, was just reading reviews so far, so i could be wrong.
