I have to start getting rid of some of these things I have accumulated and this is a start.
I have a pair of x-overs sitting around and need to be put to work. They probably came from a pair of Monitor 5's. 1) 34uF 1) 12uF 1) 2ohm resistor
and a polyswitch-blue
I am not sure which models they can be used in so if interested you will have to check your existing components so we have no mistakes.
Here is the deal
I have a two Solen 35uF's and two Solen 12uF's from another project which was murdered by a baseball bat, I will explain some day. The new polyswitches will come from Polk at no cost. I am ordering the two Mills resistors from Sonic Craft. All components will be installed using Cardas solder.
I'll cover the cost for the shipping, resistors and I already ate:mad: the cost of the capacitors.
If you can put these to work let me know :)

    Sweet Karma Drew.
    Not in.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

What resistors do these have? Do they just have one resistor each, or does each have a 2.7 and a 4.5 ohm resistor? I could possibly use them in my 7A's...but want to make sure before I say in.

    Excellent Karma!:)

Ah...That's what I figured. Mine are the Peerless 7A's, and they each have a 2.7ohm and a 4.5 ohm resistor.

    So...not in. Nice Karma though.:)

I want to know more about the "baseball" bat . This sounds like it may rival one of Sal's adventures/stories.Might as well let it out now,, it's too late to drop it,, what did you do,, take a swing at something? :)
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

    George,
    Remember this project? http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66519&highlight=monitor+veneer

My son who is a really good baseball player took a practice swing in our basement where the Monitor 10's were being finished. He's a strong kid too! He is 5'7'' 130lbs and handsome like his father.
Baseball bat + strong son + great swing + excellent follow thru ='ed a big oooooooops Yeah he hit one of them and its not good. To fix it I am going to re-veneer both speakers again, basically start over. His $130. baseball bat was not damaged.
Oh well, if thats the worst thing that ever happens we got it made. He knows I had alot of work in them and are special to me since they were my first Polks. No problem, he's my son and I love him more than anything in the world.
No I am not posting pictures of the damaged speaker. Not yet anyway. Maybe when I go to re-do them.
