So...I'm browsing some ads on ebay for some vintage Polks...and I see an ad for some 5JR's. I notice right away from the picture next to the listing that they aren't 5JR's, but are in fact, 7A's. I own a pair.

I click on the ad...and what do I see? A picture of MY speakers. Not just similar ones...these are MY speakers. In front of MY couch. You can even see MY cat on the couch. This is kinda f'ed up.

I've had that happen to me. You can complain to them and ebay. If they linked to your pic, you can have all kinds of fun with that.:D

lmao! That would be great...they didn't link to the pic though, it's embedded. I'd have to find a nice pic to replace it for them otherwise...lol

I'm not really to worried about it...more worried about someone seeing the pic and thinking they're scoring some Peerless 7A's, when in reality...they aren't...You'd think they guy could have at least found a picture of some 5 Jr's to rip off.

I wrote the guy a message telling him to give me my cat back.:p I also mentioned that he was using a picture of my speakers, which are significantly different from the ones he's selling, and that he might want to point that out in the ad...lol

Also, the cat's not included. That costs extra. A lot extra.

It's kinda hard to tell...but I think it was one of the before pics...lol

The guy wrote me back this morning...
I'd confess to being embarrassed, except I'm laughing too hard. my digital camera is on the fritz, so I googled "polk 5JR", hit "images", and your picture came up. They look an awful lot like my 5jR's, but I guess not close enough. Thanks, I'll remove the listing later and relist when I can get a proper picture of my speakers. How much should I list your cat and couch for?

Looks like the "give my my cat back" comment got him!...lol

If he owns a pair of 5Jr's though...you'd think he'd see how significantly different looking these are from the Jr's...c'mon...a 10" PR compared to a 6.5" PR? That's a bit of a difference...

It's because Club Polk comes up pretty high in Google searches, and I've got pictures of my speakers on here. They googled it, and it was one of the first pictures that came up.

Use of your photos without consent is a no no.
Use of your photos without consent for the purpose of profit is a bigger no no.

At least he agreed to take the pic off. It's nice to see that complete random strangers can still be nice, courteous people. Think about how many people out there would have responded the other way!

Very true...at least the guy was honest about it. I was waiting to get a reply saying "These ARE my speakers...what are you talking about!?"

I still find it funny that he said he figured the picture was close enough to his 5 Jr's...and that no one would have noticed the difference. There's a pretty big difference between them...lol

Nope. I usually rock a pair of piss covered Wranglers, no shirt and a sign that says "Will give BJ's for audio". That guitar dude is way too high end for me.
