I have one. It helps some, but I don't think they are worth the new asking price.
I'd buy one from Ebay. Used is fine. In fact, some will tell you the older ones work better! Should be able to find one for $50 or less if you are patient. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
be sure to put your finger,or some appendage in it,just to make sure that it works.:eek:JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)
-
I've been using one for 25 years and it works great. . . you can get one a lot cheaper than $90.

The AQ brush is good for touch ups after first cleaning with a record cleaning machine. I haven't found it useful for anti-static however. BTW with the AQ brush you need a very light touch. -
I recommend this brush, it is the one I use. Plus Steven will give you a discount on it and the Milty gun.

Mention my name if you do decide to call him. -
I will call him THANKS! Those VPI TT's look nice.
-
Doesn't static build up from the friction created by the needle and record?
-
Thanks again Joe, just got off the phone with him. Ordered the brush and gun.

I am happy with it. i am very reluctent on buying a used one on ebay. Somethings i just like to have NEW. if i was buying it from somebody on this forum that i had a good feeling about, well you know what i am saying.
Thanks again Joe. -

i dunno.
i remember all that jazz, but i don't remember them assuring me that it wasn't radioactive in the early 80's. i'm just wondering why they feel the need to bring it up now?

Well i don't think i wasted anything, and i did'nt pay $100 for just the gun. -
Hey Joe, I gotta taser gun. How good do you think this would work for getting rid of static on vinyl?

I wonder what a record would look like after being tasered. -
I received my Milty, And carbon brush today. They do help that is for sure. I still want the VPI 16.5. Listening to VAN HALEN S/T LP I fricking love this LP.
It still shocks me that i can get my receiver up to +6 db with ease when playing vinyl . i havent tried to push it anymore then that, it is LOUD but clear sounding, and with the DSW PRO 500 i am LOVING it. -
They both will last you a lifetime.
-
Thanks again Joe. I left Steve a message today to call me about the VPI 16.5
-
Good move.

Your killing me Tool . I am lusting for cleaner records too. BTW, the highest I have driven my 1Cs is +10 on Vinyl and they sounded great, no distortion. I could go higher but no need. Granted, that is not normal listening levels.
Keep going, I will try to follow in your vinyl dust;)Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
