Denon DL-160 Phono Cart

I'm going to post this on a whim. If anybody has a Denon DL-160 phono cartridge that you would like to sell, I'm your man. I've tried to buy new (for cheap) and the discount retailers are sold out. I can probably get one from the Needle Doctor and the other hifi bandits but I am all about vinyl on the cheap:D:cool:

    I paid $150.00 on ebay free shipping, the guy still has some, but not sure what you mean by cheap.

    The discounters were selling these for around $110 around Christmas. If there is a real good used one available I would expect to pay less than $100. Who was the eBay seller?

    Nothing wrong with that price. You'll love it. My only complaint is that the diamond tip is so small it picks up every little piece of lint it encounters so cleaning after each side of record is recommended. They include a stylus brush so this is simple. Just remember back to front. Always. Enjoy.

    Appears hififorless is hoaky. Their inventory as of yeaterday showed 10 carts and last audit was 3/19. They took my order and sent confirmation, I could see my CC had pending charge. I tracked my order at their site later in the day showed progress had made it to shipped status.

    Then lastnight they cancelled my order "SORRY, THIS ITEM WAS SOLD OUT AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE YOUR ORDER WAS VOIDED, NO CHARGE WILL SHOW UP ON YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT."

    Then this morning I get an email showing the invoice and my CC status still show pending.

    schwarcw, Finally picked up a 160 but at a higher price than wanted. All I can say is it is one sweet cart. Have about 10 hours on it. Very detailed highs, tighter bass and wide soundstage.

    When I find one closer to $100 I may have to get another one for backup.

    Congrats on finally snagging one. The only problem I've had is that the tiny tip likes to accumulate lint so I use the supplied brush to clean it after every record side. Back to front...back to front. Your description of the sound is exactly how I would describe it.
