NAD preamps: 1155, 1300

Does anyone have any thoughts on the NAD 1155 and/or 1300 preamps? I'd especially be interested in hearing about the quality of their phono stages, their bass/low frequency performance, and whether or not they have "tone defeat" or "tone bypass" switches.
Do you think either would be a good match with/complement to my Yamaha MX-1000 power amp (which I think has excellent performance in the highs and mids), which is powering a set of Polk RTA-12a's?
Not sure if they are good prices, but there are local guys selling a 1155 for $75 and a 1300 for $100.
Thanks.

I did have the 1155 but it was a long time ago. I was using it with a NAD 2200 and a pair of the small Maggies. I'm pretty sure I had my Dual turntable / Shure cartridge with it. Anyway, I remember the sound being excellent (very quiet / pure). I know it has a bass defeat switch but for some reason I think it was more for turntable rumble issues. IIRC when both tone controls were in the zero position (around 8 o'clock) they were effectively defeated but don't see how that could have bypassed them completely. I do remember reviews on it that said it was a close to a pure gain control as you could get so that would be a very good sign. I would have to say that at $75 it would be a steal. The last one I saw was around $150 which may have been a little high. Anyway, that's all I got.Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p
