Thinking of adding a new preamp. Considering Cary SLP-98P. Anybody have any pros/cons for this preamp?

Cary makes solid gear. I think Doro had one in the past, but he's had dozens of pres."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I almost purchased one, but went with the Modwright 9.0 SE instead. In the future I may buy the Cary to see if it best my current pre. The Cary looks stunning, especially the Jaguar Red finish.

It is a bonus that it looks nice. My current set up in my bedroom is a dynaco 70, dynaco pas 3, brick DAC, and LSi 15s. I want to put the pas 3 downstairs in my workout room and use the Cary in the bedroom.

They are certainly a respected player in audio and will be a nice step into Hi-Fi, besides you cant go wrong with tube gear. As said Doro had one and wrote nice things about it, not sure if Raife has one, I know he has a Cary SACD player he likes.
BearDog has had a bit of Cary gear as well.

That's good to know....I'll need to ask Doro. I imagine that not only will it be a nice step into Hi-Fi but (hopefully) a significant upgrade to my pas 3 (which I am not getting rid of because I like it).

It's on my short list also. Some day.
