Point Me in the Right Direction

OK.....I found a longer RCA cable and moved my PSW111 Sub Woofer to the other side of the room away from my dining room archway. I was concerned I was losing sound to the other room since my sub woofer was on the opposite side of the room away from the corner. I now have enough cord to place my PSW111 behind my right speaker about 4 feet away from the corner.
Here is my question: I have the PSW111 sitting behind my right Polk Audio Studio 10 Speaker. I have the PSW111 with its front facing the corner of the room (Not facing the front like my Polk Audio Studio 10's). I have to say I like the sound. If I had a longer RCA cord I probably would still try moving it still closer to the corner behind my reading chair.
I know bass is omni directional. So does it matter I have the PSW111 facing sideways away from the front listening area of the room? Does this make sense that I have it aiming towards the corner (4 ft away) to get the corner effect even though my RCA cord isn't long enough to get me to the exact corner of the room? I guess I just didn't want to aim it right into the back of my Polk Audio Studio 10's.:eek: Are RCA extender plugs ok to use to make the cord longer?

Evan, this is part of the "fun" of optimizing your subs performance. Try it all 4 ways and see what sounds best to you. There are a lot of other aids out there to help optimize, which would probably do better than your ears, test tones software to see and analyze the response, EQ's all of which I am not familiar with using, and will take more time and effort. It's up to you, but for now you can definetly do it by ear, after all the end result is to make you happy with how it sounds:)
The sound and feel of your bass will be different with each turn of the sub you make, how much you are able to perceive is hard to tell, and would vary on room, equipment and your ears.
The RCA extenders are ok but I prefer not to use them YMMV. -
RCA extender's are fine... you don't suffer any signal loss at all. you should be able to find one at Radio Shack for not much. then just add another RCA cable length of your choice. and you're done.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Very nice! Thanks everyone for your advice. Right now I have the PSW111 turned to face the corner and it sounds great! I boosted the Dbs a little on my AVR and it sounds great! Tomorrow I might get some of those RCA extenders and see if I can get this sucker set up in the corner and do another test.
