I just picked up George Thorogood & The Destroyers 30 Years Of Rock Greatest Hits album today. As soon as i got home, i put it on, cracked open a beer, and just had a big smile on my face.
The CD sounds really good, and has all my favorites....One Bourbon, One scotch, One Beer......Who Do You Love.....I Drink Alone.....Move It On Over.....Bad To The Bone......etc.
I've been wanting this greatest hits album for quite a while, i'm very happy i finally saw it while i was out and picked it up. My buddy and his wife were having a party tonight, and i ended up showing up there a bit late because i couldn't take this album out. Now if i could of gotten my fiancee to stop singing along, i'd of been even happier! lol

When she sings just turn it up. My line is, "If I wanted to hear you sign I would have purchased your album."Michael
In the beginning, all knowledge was new!

Great band, one of my all time favorites. Saw him live back when it was George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers in the late 70's at a small club in Raleigh, NC called "The Pier". The place only held about 100 people, and you were right there. Also saw Billy Joel there, before anyone knew who he was, either.
Anyway, GT does a great duet with Steve Miller on the "Fly Like an Eagle" DVD that was released a couple years ago. The discs has a 5.1 audio re-mix of the FLAE album, and the DVD has a good bit of concert footage. One of the great jams I've seen.

I like GT, but saw him live over the summer, and it was NOT good. He just mumbled through all the songs. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

He played up here a little while back at the Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach NH.
I didn't get a change to go, but i heard he did a fantastic job from a few people i know that went. -

That's where I saw him. He sucked. I liked Buddy Guy (who opened) way better.
I dunno, I went with a bunch of people, we all agreed, but I'm sure we are in the minority. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
I've seen GT more times than I can count, never a bad show, but I'm sure everyone has a dud every now and then.
Two of the most memorable.....watching him play in front of my GF and I in the middle of N. Eutaw St. while the band jammed away inside No Fish Today. The other was at the U of MD, GT knighted me using his guitar neck instead of a sword. Hmmmm...Sir F1nut has a nice ring to it.Political Correctness'.........defined

Small world!
I didn't even notice that you're location said "Live Free or Die".
Anyways, i obviously can't form my own opinion on that show since i wasn't there. Regardless though, whether it sucked or not, i would of still liked to have seen him play live. I hope he comes around here again sometime soon! -

I bet that "Tickled Your EMO"...:p:D -
Here's the thing - if you go for the guitar and his showmanship, he was awesome. He does own the stage and puts on a good show. MY complaint was the way he sang. George Thoroughgood is one of those artists that you like cuz his songs are catchy and you can sing along to them at concerts, and he kind of went out of his way to sing them in a way that you couldn't do that. Maybe a stupid complaint but whateverIf you will it, dude, it is no dream.
