Since I have been labeled as a depleted genes Club Polk member, I though I would rebel once again and post a link to an external thread discussing a Periphery Ring Clamp which can be used with most TTs.

Audiogon Periphery Record Rings thread

Might be interesting following this thread if you have ever though of using one. Having a VPI TT, I am using the VPI Periphery Ring Clamp. I wouldn't play a record without using this.

I understand your bliss. I've used Joe's "The Clamp" and I was amazed at the difference that made on my vintage turntable setup. I also heard the clamp in action on Analog97's VPI. We were both amazed at the impact the clamp has on the sound.

I use Joe's The Clamp and it is amazing. It makes sense to couple the 180 gr lp to the 11 kg platter. We do so much to make the TT solid but just let the lp float on the platter.

I'd like to get one but at the cost of what they go for, I might as well have one manufactured for me to my specifications. I also use Joe's "The Clamp" and it does wonders for vinyl listening. There will never be a reason to upgrade that area of my rig as Joe IMO has built the perfect clamp.

I'm either looking into a vacuum system to keep the LP down or looking into getting a ring made for the outer edge.

If you don't have one...you maybe SOL...in order to get one someone will have to sell you theirs beccause I don't think Joe has any more. I know I'm not selling mine. I still think Joe needs to figure out how to make and sell them again now that vinyl is in a nice resurgence.

Okay, thanks! Looked at the thread, does look pretty slick alright. I take it he make them on his own lathe or he had an access to a machine shop...

The cost of having just one make is astronomical and would break your bank. An alternative that would get you particially there would be this one.

Auto restoration supply outfits sell a string buffing wheel (for low rpm buffers) and a special compound, (rouge) for resurfacing plastic lenses and trim parts. Wear a mask !!!

I knew I had read somewhere that it was possible to buff out scratched dustcovers.Maybe not like new but anything would be better than my vintage 25year old scratched HK dustcover.
