Dear Forum
My upcoming project to declutter my basic entertainment system as much as possible. I got excited about the surround Bar and would like to add this to my system. The receiver that I plan to buy is STR-DA4400ES. here is it's link

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665491066

My questions are;
1) would the surround Bar go with this receiver without a subwoofer?
2) What would I compromise if I didnt add a subwoofer with this set up?
3) what does preouts mean? From looking at the instruction manual of that sony receiver, I could not find any useful info on adding a subwoofer.

The reason I am going with this sony AV receiver is because my TV is sony bravia and I have a PS3 and would like to stick with sony as much as possible

thanks!

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes, any real bass below 100hz.
    3. You should look a little closer, there is a single subwoofer output on the rear panel.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
