Dynaco recapping?

How do I know if my Dynaco A-25 speakers need recapping or crossover work? They seem to sound fine, but I'm sure they would sound better if they need to be worked on.

Maybe the first thing to think about is the quality and age of existing caps.

Being that the A-25 is from the late 60s or early 70s, the caps will most likely be dried out. But more than that, crossover component technology has come a long way since then and new components sound so much better than the old ones. With a classic design like the A-25 with Seas drivers, I'd replace the components. :)

Agreed. You could go at it two ways:

    1. Replace inductors, caps, resistors with same board.

    2. Get a whole new crossover.

Just replace the old caps with new ones of the same value. Don't worry about voltages though, higher is ok.
