I've been looking into getting a new TV lately...but I'm not going to be getting a state of the art flatscreen by any means. I'm just looking to get a slightly nicer tube TV. The one I have now doesn't even have RCA inputs...all it has is a coaxial F-pin input. This makes connectivity kind of a pain in the ****.

Check the classifieds in your local newspaper. Seriously...I've been looking in my paper lately and there are some older tube TV's for sale in there that are pretty decent, for like 50 dollars. That's probably what I'll end up doing.

Too bad you aren't in the Atlanta area. I have a 29" NEC monitor that I just retired. Great TV but no tuner. I think I bought it in '86 or so and used it for a few years then it sat in storage for about 9 years. It's way to heavy to ship.

Only 20 years old? My Curtis Mathes console was built in 1978, bought at a yard sale in 1994, and still working in 2007 when I put it out on the street with a note saying to use a VCR for the channel tuner. It was gone by afternoon.

I gotta nice one you can have but you'll have to drive to your local airport, fly over via 13hr flight, pick it up, take it to post office, ship it to yourself in the USA, have dinner with me, leave local airport, 13hr flight again to your home, pick it up from post office and enjoy. Trust me its very well worth it. Being that youre on east coast its 18hrs not including layovers. Gotta love it.

you know they had the technology down pat with a lot of those
when they run that long. I had a 27" go flakey after 18 years.
I don't think any of the flatscreens are going to be still running 10 years from now.

I could probably bring home a free 27" CRT TV every week if I wanted to. Check out Craigslist. I bet you'll find a bunch for under $50. A Panasonic or Sony from the early '90s would be a good choice.

I'd never considering buying a new one. More for the fact that it's almost impossible to find a new tube TV of any quality.
