Emotiva RPA-2 Discontinued

I'm just posting this because i know there are a few people here on Club Polk that have been considering this Amp.
Below is a statement (and link to that statement) from Lonnie at Emotiva.
Hey everyone

Just thought I would jump in here and let you know what all if happening.

Yes we have discontinued the RPA amps. The reasons for this are varied but it all came down to a few basic things. We have been building that particular amp design for roughly 8 or so years in various iterations. It has been a great design for us because it not only sounds great, but is very stable. However, the particular parts used in the design have become very difficult to get and quite costly. So acquiring small quantities for service and such can be done, but large enough quantities to do a production run is almost an impossibility.

That being the case we really didn’t have much of a choice but to discontinue it. Now on the bright side we have been developing a new design which will replace the RPA. I can’t elaborate on this further at this time other than to say we have not abandoned the 2 channel market and we are working to bring you a replacement that should easily exceed all that the RPA was.

That's good to know because I was planning to audition that amp along with a number of others just so I could put the Emo debate to rest for at least 'me'?

I would choose the RPA-2 over the XP model because I'm auditioning for 'music' as opposed to blow the roof off your house HT. I will never play my HT at levels where I need a 3 or 5 channel Emotiva amp. And I may or may not like the amp...so the jury is out. But at least we'll be able to have a Hearing?

HAHA, i really llike the XPA-3, with that said this is the only amp i have ever had. a guy named Jon at Ultimate Electronics has an Adcom he his wanting to sell all i know is its a 3 channel amp. He told me to come by Friday night and pick it up to audition. so i am really looking forward to it to put it up with the EMO, And if i really like it i may be the new owner of it LOL. Time will tell.

Very true. it all started when i was 12 and my mom got me my first LP.

KISS LOVE GUN. of course i am into much harder metal since then. and is KISS really a metal band anyway? i think not. but that is where it started for me anyway.

My 3rd grade camp counselors got me hooked on Iron Maiden's "Powerslave".

And no, Kiss is hardly even a band, more of a franchise than anything.

I am a huge Maiden fan, Powerslave still KICKS **** IMHO. Steve Harris is my all time favorite bass player.

Yep KISS lost it years ago. but still glad i got to see them in 78.

Too bad the recording is so bad. It has no dynamics at all. Still enjoy pulling it out once in awhile. That and few other earlier Iron Maiden got me thru my youth among others.
