I came across this thread on AK and it pretty much duplicates a method I've been thinking up for some time. Low materials cost, and if it doesn't go well, you've still only got a non-functioning driver. If it does go well...bada bing you're back in bidness!!:)

Cool post. I have about 8 dead drivers...in the landfill:(Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I've never experienced a shifted magnet but if I had, I'm sure that I would've held onto the driver in the hopes of working some sort of repair on it. Don't send any more to the landfill,OK ?:)

I don't see why it wouldn't work. You would just need to make the appropriate adjustments for the Polk drivers.
It's a great read! -
One of the contributors to the thread specifically mentioned Polk drivers, anyway, nothing ventured=nothing gained ! At worst you'll be out a few dollars for parts and a little of your time.:)
