One piece of advice for anyone who would listen...

This thought has crossed my mind many times and I am curious to see how others would answer.

If you could give one piece of advice to anyone who would listen, what would it be?

There are so many possibilities, it is difficult to pick just one. Two that I have heard that I like are:

1) Spend 30 minutes of each day daydreaming.
2) Question everything the government tells you.

From my own experiences my answer would be:

Learn to play a musical instrument, and if you can, play in a band for at least one session. Everyone loves music. After all, it IS a universal language. But once you are able to actually take part in creating music, you can appreciate it on a whole new level that invokes not only a greater understanding, but a heightened degree of emotion. Imagine how many more people would become passionate about quality audio reproduction if everyone did this during/after High School (or at an age that would actually hold attention and interest).

So... what's your one piece of good advice?

The usual piece of advice I give out at work is:

"For Chris' sake, get your head out of your arse"

Overall, it would be: "It's all good if you let it" (because it's true)

    1. Learn to give a good foot rub on the wife.

    2. Make at least one improvement/upgrade to your home every year. When you move, leave the home in better shape than when you bought it

    3. Really get to know your neighbors, spend time outside talking with them, i.e. King of the Hill.

    4. At least once take a cruise.

    5. One time become a pain to the city council by getting involved in an issue of importance.

    6. Learn to cook one traditional recipe in your family and make it every year.

    7. Openly tell your kids about the stupid things you did as a kid before they reach middle school.

    8. Laugh at your own foibles in life.

    9. Volunteer for a charity event every year.

    10. Practice your spirituality, whatever it may be.

    What?

Kidding, my aunt and uncle are deaf. We always made fun of her, but mainly because she's like 4'7". That and you know a comedy is funny if you can just read it in closed captioning and still laugh out loud.

    Don't trust whitey.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
