Smoke and then get cancer. That will stop just about anyone from smoking again. The alternative is go view a real lung of a person that have been smoking for 50 years and compare that to non-smoker lung and see the difference.

    Think about this hard!
Doctors #1 rule to better health, #1 RULE IS if you smoke, QUIT. Not drinking not drug abuse not over eating not anything else. But how do we do it? Ricardo said alot a few posts earlier .I saw a list on a timeline of the withdrawls that you will face. Before I describe them let me tell you your wanting to spend the cigarette money on speakers is GREAT! That's EXACTLY what I decided to do only I wanted woodworking machinery. I quit in Dec. and put (religiously) the money 20.00 a week into an envelope and the next Dec. I went on a shopping spree. We all know it's hard to get past the first day. What helped me was popping a Hershey's miniature candy bar every 20 minutes. they had enough variety to keep me from getting bored with the same taste. The treasures were especially helpful! They're bigger and I guess that helped too.The chocolate stimulates the pleasure sensors in the brain similar to sex so that was a pluss. It only takes 72 hrs. ONLY 72 HRS. for your brain to get over nicotine and start looking for another kind of stimulant. Here is where you get to BE IN CHARGE again. Pick YOUR OWN poison. Anything ,Anything, Anything that makes you happy is what you are going to spend your cigarette money on. I also ate ribeye steaks twice a week as a reward to myself. There's more on the timeline but I'm out of space now. First step.. 72 HRS. to quite smoking . It's that easy. 72 HRs. to better health.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Chantix is one of those FDA approved drugs which can be used to get over smoking habit. It works on body by giving you the same feel good effect like smoking and hence reduces the craving for nicotine. This medicine should only be used in accordance with the instructions of a physician as there are various side effects which may vary from person to person and it includes change of taste, sleeplessness and many more. I have smoked for more than 10 yrs, but now I am spending a smoke free life from last 2 months. Thanks to chantix. Along with having this medicine, you should also have will power and feeling that you want to get over this habit.
    Chantix is FDA approved drug.

Because of Camel Cash, I still get **** from them all the time. Today I got two coupons for dissolvable tobacco. Like those thin breath mint thingies. WTF will they come up with next.

On a side note, I did get some really cool **** from using about 10,000 camel cash dollars over the years. Who knows, they'll be collector's items before long.

To tell you the truth, I haven't quit smoking.

They ain't cheap either. Especially since I like the high end brands. Best...performance I guess you could say.

The real kicker that everybody forgets is the cost of gas too! A few months ago, a few quick drags offered a quick bit of pleasure but the cost of gas just about double the price per drag.

I haven't really quit though. I've dialed it back a bit in an effort to save some money and pay off debt. I'll tell ya though, I was able to drop several grand in debt over the past 9-10 months that I haven't been smoking as much.

The cost keeps going up though. Between taxes and increasing cost of sourcing the raw materials, it's getting prohibitive.

I'm glad I finally found a tire that offers good performance but actually last somewhere close to it's treadwear warranty. But knowing my luck Pirelli will stop making these tires and I'll be in the hunt for another set to burn up again. ;)

    HIS term....NOT MINE!

Maybe Willow took the phrase "donkey punch" too literally.

I quit because of the cost. One day I figured out how much I spent a year and went out and bought something I really wanted for that amount, just put it on a credit card. I promised myself that if I picked up another smoke the first thing I would do is go home and smash the thing up. I believe it was a keyboard. That worked. Its been over 10 years. Oh, and every now and then I go out, buy something for $3K to $5K and don't give it a second thought. :)

I quit using Champix. I think it could be the Canadian version of Chantix. This was my experience with it.
The directions say to take this pill once a day for 3 days then twice a day for the remainder. (3 months). Continue to smoke up until around day 8 to 14. Then quit. I chose day 10.
I found that i did not notice anything physically happening during the first 10 days...in fact i recall thinking on day nine as i was having a crazy "nic fit" wow...this isn't helping me one bit. I woke up on day 10 and decided this is the day.
Now...this is where this drug amazed me. It was like jumping and trusting your bungee cord to do it's thing at the bottom....you don't know for sure what will happen till you jump.
Well....i was blown away. All smokers know what i mean when i talk about the feeling you would have if you got about 5 miles out on a full day boat ride and realized you forgot your cigs...and nobody on the boat had one and there was no chance of getting any till you got back at the end of the day. You feel anxiety and panic at the thought of not having your smokes....this is also an effect felt when trying to quit smoking. Champix completely blocked those feelings as well as physical cravings. But...i had to "jump" on that 10th day before i felt the drug work it's magic. I have been smoke free for 8 months now and feeling great.
I did have some very wild, vivid, intense dreams while on champix. I didn't rest very well either but i figured it was a small trade off for a better smoke free life. I recommend anyone wishing to quit to give it a try. It really was the best quitting aid i found and i tried most all of them.
