Phase Settings on SW

Hello everyone,

I now have my new Polk Audio Model PSW111 Sub Woofer rocking now that I have found the DB channel boost on my Denon. Here is my next question. On the back of the PSW111 Sub Woofer I have a switch for "Phase". It is a toggle switch from "0" or "180". What exactly is the phase toggle? What does this do? Since I am feeding my PSW111 directly from the Denon AVR 1706 through the TFE SW Output does this switch even become a factor in the sound?

Here is how I have my PSW111 set up:

Denon AVR 1706 REceiver

LFE SW Output to the PSW111

All my fronts are set to small

SW Channel DB set ar 5 DB (PSW111 is set at around 50%)

The phase switch is used if you have a room null that cancels bass. It is usually not used.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

So would I have this toggle switch set to "0" instead of "180"? Give me an example when I would have the Phase toggle set to "180"?

    Thanks
