    Hi Conrad.

    Some questions:

    > do you need a preamp out to drive a subwoofer?

    > how many inputs and what type (analog.digital) do you need?

    > What amp do you have?

x2 on that. That's the pre I'm planning on getting pretty soon. After I get my RTi's for my HT setup, I'll be shopping for the same pre.

There are a couple of them on Audiogon right now for 200 dollars IIRC.

No sub, only inputs needed are a CD and tuner, using an AMP300 from Audiosource for now.

Sure can. Its a great way to keep SS power and have tube sound.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

:eek::eek:They are just too expensive for my lowly budget.:(

After searching AGon, seems like the only ones I could afford look like a piece of crap I would give to Goodwill.

There's a lot used in that price range. Parasound has several models that
come up easily in that price range used. My tubed Audio Experience
Symphonies ran only $300 used. B&K 2 channel preamps run in that
    same price range.

Actually got an older Yammy AVR (RX-V795A) and I'm going to use that as my pre-amp and my Audiosource AMP300 as the power amp. That may not be the best way to go, but for me (far from an Audiophile) it should work just fine for the good ol' "Man Garage".

Should be running into some money soon, and then I think I'll try out the Adcom 555 for my other SDA's in my 5 channel H/T rig.

Its interesting that you asked that. I love my sub (SVS PB-12 Plus/2) and would love to use it in a 2 channel (okay, I guess it would really be 2.1 channel) rig, but I've always thought that pre-amps only had 2 channel outputs and never a sub output?

If not, could you recommend some models that have a sub output or recommend a way of using my sub with a decent pre like the Adcom 565?

    Thanks!

Audio Alchemy DLC. If you use one be sure to get an upgraded power supply either form Channel Islands Audio or an Audio Alchemy PS4.

The 565 has 3 sets of outputs 2 sets can use the bass and treble one set is a direct out that bypasses all of that.

What I have done in the past, sub on 1 set of outs, amp for the speakers on the there. It also depends on if you need your mains crossed over. If you use a electronic crossover, you can filter out what goes to the tops
