Psw 505 settings

Hi there,
I just had a quick question about my sub settings. I have the 505 hooked up with a coax cable through the LFE connection. I ran the MCACC on my pioneer receiver. From there I set all my speakers to "small". Crossover on the receiver defaulted to 80hz which I left alone. My question is, what do I do with the settings on the sub? I have read that I should set the phase to 0, crank the crossover up to the max and just play with the bass volume. Crossover settings would be adjusted on the receiver only. Is this correct? I have read tons of info on this and there seems to be many points of view on the matter. My rig is used probably 90% movies, 10% tunes.
Any help would be appreciated!
Any crossover setting recommendations are welcome.

By running the LFE connection, you are bypassing the subwoofer crossover and using the AVR crossover. I prefer to set my AVR to 60hz and the phase set to 180. I set all of my speakers to large. I may be mistaken, but I believe the phase setting widens the sound field for the sub. My setup is used mainly for movies also. It's personal preference. Just play with the settings and go with what sounds good to you. It's all in the detail.

I run my sub at 50% and at 80hz. I wouldn't run it cranked up all the way. Play around with the phase control and see which setting gives you better results.

I'm with Leroy on this one.
Have a Boston and Polk sub I run at 50 percent volume, crossover on the receiver at 80hz.
Rule of thumb is to toggle phase switch until you hear the best, deepest, cleanest bass that you can.
That could mean either 0 or 180...your ears need to decide.
