Wounded soldier...help.

I bought a pair of LSi7's on ebay recently as a project to help me learn more about the LSi series and maybe doing some mods but, ........ I don't as of yet know S#!T about this so I've been searching/reading as much as possible.

This pair will hopefully be a decent set of rears to go with my LSi9's (factory re-furbs from Polk-Direct).

The right LSi7 arrived with a tweeter broken off inside the cabinet (see pics).

I fished it out and compared it to the left side which arrived intact and sounds fine, however, the tweeters have different labeling. I hope the pics are legible.

My questions: What is the difference between the two? (peerless vs rdo).

Can I/should I buy another Peerless?

Dumb Newbie questions I'm sure but I did not get a hit on the part numbers in my thread searches.

By the way, the pair of LSi7's were delivered for $190.00 the pair.

Thanks in advance for any help.

who is the wounded soldier? If refering to the speaker it is a rather poor choice of wording given that there are thousands of wounded soldiers out there.... please forgive my sensitivity to the heading on your post, but once a Marine always a Marine.

with regards to the speaker, I would do my best to restore the cabinet if needed and replace the damaged components with factory replacement parts directly from Polk. As a forum memeber you will get some nice discounts on parts.

again accept my appologies for responding as I have above, and welcome to club polk. this is a great place to hang out and learn from a great bunch of guys!

Sincere apologies if I offended anyone. My father is a Marine and I probably should have known better. Thanks for your service and the kinds words of welcome.

I thought it was a common phrase used to describe a myriad of things that are treasured/respected but currently banged up. Guess you have to watch what you say with such non-PC phrases, especially naming a new thread as such. I'm sure xj loves America and vets as much as anyone else.

Back to the audio stuff, you can always call Polk support and get a replacement tweeter. Not sure the cost, but they will give you a 10% discount if you mention you are an active member of the Polk Forum, and they can also answer any questions you have about the tweeter models not matching up.

    Again, welcome to the forum!

Welcome and great snag on the speakers! Even with paying a few bucks for a replacement tweeter, you'll probably make out okay.

My first reaction to the tagline for this post has been vindicated by those that have posted here as well. In the times we live, we hear daily about of nation's best being injured or killed. We also live in a time where information travels faster than light. When I opened this post to read it, I was ready to offer my support and my wallet to aid and comfort the injured vet and his/her family. I do not have much, but without them doing what they do, I believe we would all have far less... In a time of war such things become more serious than being P/C, it becomes a matter of respect. My reaction would have been very different on 9/10/01......:)

I am sorry to the OP that this has become a discussion about something other than his original question and ask that this thread return to its original programming....
