RM201 mounting

I just purchased the following for my new HT setup:

2 RM201s for fronts
1 RM202 for center
2 RM101s for rears

I see they come with "mounts" but they don't appear to be what I'll need for this setup. They will all need to be ceiling mounted about 10 feet high. The place is pre-wired for 5.1 so I would guess I just need to get some heavy duty ceiling mounts. The 201s and 101s would be perpendicular to the ground (up and down) pointed towards the center of the listening area. The center would be parallel to the ground and pointed toward the listening area.

Anyone have suggestions for good ceiling mounts?

bueller? No RM owners that have ceiling mounted their speakers?

Do I need to trade these babies in for Bose to get some ceiling mounted speakers? Maybe get some fancy Monster cables to make them sound their best?

Why don't you want to wall mount them the way they are suppose to be mounted?? Or buy a pair of Polk stands for them?? I always feel bad when people are trying to mount their HT speakers as PA (Public Address) speakers! Such a waiste of quality sound in poor set-up :(

    Cheers :)

Well, then this will be my PA setup.

My PA setup consists of 2 RM201s, 1 RM202, 2 RM101s. They will be mounted on the ceiling as per the pre-existing surround wiring locations. I will have plenty of clutter and audio in every room upstairs, so this is my guest/dog/girlfriend friendly setup.

Just seeing if it is possible to ceiling mount these bad boys. I've heard several ceiling mounted and in-ceiling setups that sounded pretty decent and better than nothing.

Maybe I need to email polk directly for an answer. Thought someone would have these speakers mounted somewhere other than on stands or on-wall with basic brackets.

I'm sure you can find some black RM201s on ebay through Polkdirect eventually.

If I don't find mounts that will works for the slightly large RM201s, I may get another pair of RM101s (since they'd be a breeze to ceiling mount), put the center on the fireplace mantle under the plasma (instead of ceiling mounted) and put the RM201s in my workout room on stands. That would probably work best, but I thought the RM201s would be better for fronts in my PA system.

Here is another option for you, I like the idea of the safety cable; http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082804&p_id=3011&seq=1&format=2

You should keep your 201s for your HT as they are a little more powerfull then the 101s since they use 2 drivers. If you want to install this technology in your workout room, you must realize they rated for the mid and high frequecies and a subwoofer is advisable for the lows.

    Cheers!

That's a pretty beefy mounting bracket for a 5 lb speaker, but i guess better safe than sorry.
I guess you are right however, Should look much better, be safer, last longer than most flimsy plastic mounting brackets. Just another option as the OP comment didn't seem to lead him toward the proposed previous mounts.

    Cheers :)
