Hello all,

I've tried searches here. I've searched on ebay (completed ads included). I've searched on craigslist. Can't seem to get a good range on what a pristine, mint condition set of stock SDA SRS 1.2's are worth. I don't think they are TL's, but I'm not sure. I've stumbled across a potential pair and don't want to insult the owner, but don't want to over pay.

Is there such a thing as a blue book for speakers? I've checked out the polksda page but they all seem to be sold 4-5 years ago. Which is fine, but should they be cheaper now? Do they depreciate like a car? Or is it whatever SDA fiends like myself will pay?

I've really found the pair of a lifetime, but I'm on a budget...

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks,

The seller hasn't offered up a price. He's kind of waiting for me to make an offer...

They're worth whatever someones willing to pay. I've seen them go for as low as $500 and as much as $2000. It al depends upon location, and condition.

That's no way to do business. Tell the seller to set a price and work from there.

Agreed, i hate when someone says "make me an offer" without some sort of base price to work around.

It's not like that. The guy has an awesome older system that's kind of taken a back burner to his life and now they're in a room that's way to small to them justice. I come over and freak when I see them. I now walk the line between convincing him to "upgrade" to a more modern smaller sized speaker (downplay the sda's) and convince him to sell them to me at a reasonable cost. I want to be fair, but I also want to kind of haggle with him. So if I offer too much I screw myself. Also don't want to offend him or the speakers for that matter. They are Mint. But we're also in a recession....

I'm afraid to say how much I have to offer because I told him about this site. He obviously does his research and has fantastic taste in speakers.

I got my Oak SRS's for 600 and my Walnut ones for 500....then a couple months later got the smaller 2.3's for 750. The SRS's were mint and the 2.3's were new in the boxes...thats how I justified paying the extra cash for the smaller set.

They ( SDA's ) sure dried up here on the west coast...in 07 they were everywhere for pennies on the dollar.....in 08 the pickings got slim...and now its even worse.

I hate the make offer crap....you say he is a sharp cookie...well have him look here to find an average range ...at least then HE will know what too high is and YOU will know what wont be an insult to him.
