Newbie here, confused about CS and CSi series. And yeah R50 matching...
Guess what?
Yet another R50 related question... I know there's been a lot of these, but believe me, I read quite a lot of them both here and in the avsforum, and got more confused as I read them...
Like many people in here, I couldn't stop myself from getting a pair of R50's from Fry's. And I don't even have a receiver, or anything else.
It's for my parents but eventually they'll end up in my house... Anyways...
I was looking for a matching center speaker for R50s. Since we know that while watching dvd's or whatever on the TV with just TV speakers, we can't quite hear the dialogs.
Then I met with the term "Matching" center speaker...
I'll get another Polk Audio speaker to match for sure, but looking at the lines of products, and numbering... I'm rather confused...
Many people say "just get an CMR center series" which I believe was built for R50s as well...
Also many say go with CSi1-3-5 whatever...
First of all, what is the difference between CS and CSi series?
There is CS10 - 20 ...
And there is CSi1-2-3-4-5-6
Is there anything like: cs10<csi1<cs20<csi2<csi3<csi4... or
Can anyone correlate these for me? And what would be a best bang for buck...
Also to mention, I will not upgrade this for at least 5-10 years? Not an audiophile what so ever (Neither me nor my parents)... We won't even have the rear speakers because of the impossibility of wiring those, and just too much crowd for such few use of seldom movie watching.
What should I go with? (Or if you'd like to teach me how to catch fish instead) What should I look at in where?
I also have a receiver question but this is not the right section...
Well, thank you so so much in advance for your answers...
Thanks
Korhan

Hm...
I saw a csi5 at ebay just listed for 189, and was thinking about that, while still reading the forum. One person said it doesn't quite match and is an overkill...
So, 1 vote for CS10
Would you mind briefly explaining the quality difference between the CS and CSi series? -
Saw a CSi25 over in the PolkDirect store on ebay with a $99 buy it now price. Despite the name, the drivers match with the R series. I used one with my old R15 setup.

im sure i will be corrected if im wrong but the "i" has a different type of tweeter i believe. There are some really knowledgeable people on here that can get deep into this for you. AND welcome to club polk!:DPolk Audio Surround Bar 360

The CSi25 appears to be misnamed for some reason as it has the exact same 5.25" midrange driver as the R15 and the same .75" tweeter. The R50's have the same tweeter, but the larger 6.5" version of the R-series midrange driver.

Korhan - a quick call to Polk support might be worth it so you're comfortable before buying. -
I'll take a look at csi25.
It's my very first time getting into this home theater thing except for an RCI HTIB which sounded quite good for the money actually, but dead on us...
Then I bought a samsung htz310 on black friday for the divx capability and stuff, but it just sounded God awful. Although it was 2-3 times more expensive than the RCI I bought 3 years ago, it gave no joy what so ever...
And I decided maybe it's time for me to move in a new direction...
As I stated previously, I don't even have a receiver... And debating if I should stick with something that has trueHD or am I fine without putting my firstborn on craigslist to pay for it (No, not a dad yet, don't worry)
And thanks for making me feel welcome polks

Thanks ajstan for the recommendation and the link...
I'll give them a call after reading the info in the link so I'll know what I'm talking about... -
I have a CSi25 listed on Ebay. It matched fine with the R50's that I have.
