Telarc cut 1/2 of its staff and will stop producing its own recordings
The Terre Haute, Indiana Sony (DADC) CD pressing plant has already stopped pressing SACD a couple of years back. I am thinking current Telarc SACDs are pressed in Japan by Sony. With the current economic situation, SACD could be gone if profit is to be maximized.

Bummer, I like Telac discs. I actually own several of Telarc's LPs which I love.

Bad news indeed. Telarc discs are essentially the spine of my collection. However I was pleasantly surprised the format was able to last as long as it did/does.

I am pretty sure Danger Boy is reponsible for this, I am pretty sure I am going to choke his little self out, not real sure, but pretty sure or at least I am pretty sure I think so that I am pretty sure that is.
RT1--anyway not the greatest of news, MOFI will be selling them for a franklin each soon and we fools will pay it, well, not Danger Boy, at least I am pretty sure he won't, pay that is. -
Better get this SACD while you still can....

It's just a scan of my SACD of "Round-Up" -
Bad news indeed.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Don't mean to Hijack this post but what is the story on Blue-spec CDs (Japanese).
Anyone have any. What's the difference, and are there any plans to move this to Blu-ray versions?
thanks.

I don't have any Blu-spec CD. As far as I know, these are regular CDs that employed a new method of manufacturing. In the end, they're still regular, old CD. With that said, I've read that some Blu-spec CD titles are improved over previously-available CD versions.
Btw, Aerosmith's "Rocks" and Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", not to mention Billy Joel's "An Innocent Man", are coming to Blu-spec CD in March. I wonder if they can top their respective SACD counterparts.
Here's Japan Sony Music's official website for Blu-spec CD. The titles with the tiny pink retangle are available for pre-orders. -
Just when everyone thought that both Telarc and SACD are dead....
