As I said in another thread, my old coumpter went down in flames. The repair shop tried tried to salvage my hard drive but it was not to happen. Now I have bought a new computer. Is there anyway to download my music from my Ipod to my computer or do I have to start from scratch?

install iTunes on your new machine, and sync. it with your iPod.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I don't believe that this works - you can't sync music from an iPod onto a "different" machine.

You CAN, however, mount the iPod as a drive and then copy the songs onto your hard drive, and then re-add them to iTunes.

For the $13 I think I'll just buy one of the transfer programs. Thanks.

all you have to do is explore into the ipod drive in my computer and change the permissions of the ipod_control from read only and apply to all sub folders to be able to explore the itunes music folder..

then just go into itunes and add the Z:\iPod_Control\Music folder to library with copy selected file from source enabled.. or drag and drop.. etc
