Per a comment in my last thread:

If you live in the Indianapolis area, there's a McIntosh Amp and Preamp on the auction site... and for those of you not familiar with shopgoodwill.com, I guess I let one of my secret cats out of the bag ;)

Amp- MC 2505

Preamp- MX 115

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=4496040

(I know it's not a Polk-specific post, but since I mentioned it in one of my threads, *and* since someone here might be interested, I thought it was a valid post. If I was wrong, sorry.)

    Great prices!

That Preamp has a excellent tuner section. I have one that was aligned a few years ago and can pick up stations almost 75 miles away in NJ. With a roof mounted antenna, I should be able to pick up Boston stations without a problem.

Wow, nice. That amp had gain controls also so you didn't even need a preamp. 50wpc at 8ohm I think, but pretty much designed to ignore loads completely. I believe it was spec'd to comfortably drive as low as 2 ohm.

    Same here. Now it's bookmarked.
