Hi Folks,

I have done some reading in these forums...
I just over purchased and here's my gear hooked up to an Onkyo 705

2 rti10, (currently fronts)
1 csi3
1 psw 505
2 RTI8, (still in a box)
4 rti4, (1 pair surround and 1 pair not used yet)

I live in an apartment and can't possibly keep all these speakers. The living room is about 20x14, open to the dining room and hallway

I'm not planing to upgrade the csi3 to a 5.
Would Rti8 as surround be overkill?

Can I use a not used receiver to power the rti10s separately?

Looking for advice as to what to keep.

tia

I say go with the rti 4's. I prefer having my rears above my head.

return the RTi8's if still in box and if you can without a restocking fee.. maybe even sell one pair of RTi 4's too.

you got to many speakers, esp for apartment living. ;)

Well since you have too many speakers, I could always use some more. Didn't you say that you would just give them away:D. Anyway I agree I would use the 4's love mine I have two pair of them one for the surrounds and one for the rears. You can use the 8's but in any aprtment setting you will probably just end up making someone not too happy.

10s up front, CSi5 center, Rti4s in the rear (x2 if youre going 7.1) send the rest back including the sub and opt for a SVS PC12 NSD or PB12 PB12 NSD.

    10's and 4's.

Use the 8's in the bedroom, and the other 4's in the kitchen. :D

Thank you for all your replies.

I can't return the 8's... I guess they'll find a new home through craigslist. I'll probably keep the extra 4's for the bedroom (as suggested ;-) and set up the rest in the living room

    Onkyo 705
    Rti 10's front
    Csi3 center
    Rti4's surround
    Psw 505

I think you'll be very happy with the setup you've listed above! Nicely done!

    Sounds like a good plan.

I agree though the sub may come up short.

    True dat...but, a decent starter.

And, don't we all succumb to 'upgraditis' at some point regardless of what is in our rig??? :D
