Buying an iPod. I have a Sansa Fuse which is great but want to try the iPod just to see how it differs/is better/worse etc.

I don't know anything about iPods so I need some help on the latest, best choice.

Thanks in advance.

It all depends on how much music your going to put on it, any movies, touch vs not, screen or no screen. You can go anywhere from $50 to $400.

I love my iPod touch! That thing is pretty sweet. Probably going to get an iPhone as well when the new ones come out around June. I use mine mainly for email, games, and books (been reading books electronically for 7 years now, hate paper books to lazy to hold the pages open!)

I'd get the iPod touch if price isn't an issue. Unless all you want is music.

My wife got a touch also, has had it about a month now. She really loves hers too. They need to get the capacity up a little more on them though...

Depends on what you want to use it for. I use mine as a music server since the Wadia iTransport docking station can extract the digital music data on the iPod, and send it to an external DAC for excellant sound quality. So, I bought the 120GB classic model for $225 since it holds 1000s of songs.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

    Three 20 amp circuits.

I have a nano that I use a lot at work. I went with a nano because of the flash memory, I really didn't want to have to worry about dropping it and killing the hard drive.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

Second the classic. Not a terrible screen for watching movies on, and you have room for EVERYTHING. If I didn't already have a blackberry and a PSP I'd have probably went with a touch, but I couldn't justify the difference in storage space when I have other devices that will already do what the touch does.

The Classic is awesome. I have the previous gen 80GB Video, and only wish I could have 120GB of storage. Oh well.

    I also have a 512MB Shuffle and a 32GB Touch. :D

Out of curiosity, have you tried your sansa fuze with rhapsody? $15 a month for 6 million+ tracks downloaded straight to your sansa, all 100% legal. I love the service and couldn't live without it myself.

Try the 2 week trial if you're curious.
Lovin that music year after year.

After a month they expire. I view it like cable tv, but all of it on demand and constantly updating.

Any good suggestions for over the ear headphones for an ipod. I really do not like "in ear" type but would like something compact (not bulky) and very good quality.

Well I think of it as ... for $15.mo, compared to how many CD's I could buy and never listen to again a year later ... I'll take paying $15/mo for eternity. I can still go out and buy the occasional must have CD.

I haven't bought them yet, but I'm gonna try some Klipsch Custom-2's for my in-ear-monitors. Everything I've read points to them having a balanced sound that won't bee too bright and fatigueing, but still deliver a good detail and midrange.

I second that. Go lossless or go home. My 80GB Video is almost full and nearly 2500 songs in ALE.
