Is this true that there is leakage that destroys the circuit boards? How do you know if it's happening? Is it the capacitators and do they need to get replaced?
The guy who is selling me the GFA-565 has had them for 5 years...
Also, does this apply to any other Adcom amp like the GFA-545 or GFA-555?

we have a couple of resident Adcom experts who will most likely chime in. There is a fix for the issue/problem.IIRC the board is cleaned with an ultrasonic device and recapped if necessary,or something like that. I'm not sure about the 555 or 545, but the 565's seemed to be particularly suspect to these issues. Sorry I could not be of more help/info. Just have the unit(s) checked out prior to purchase.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

If he had them repaired where I had mine repaired(EBC electronics-paul) then there good to go.I sent mine to paul in jersey and have not had a problem since.Thats a fair price on those too.Maybe you can find someone to repaint the faceplates someday if you get them.SDA-2BTL with custom IC

Hi. I own an Adcom but I am not a repair tech or anything like it. I was curious about your question so I did a little looking around and found this. I am sure there is other info. available but this is a good start I believe.

That's interesting. So all one needs to do is replace all the caps (hopefully upgrade the caps in the process) clean out the electrolyte that has already leaked, and you're done?
As for the GFA-555 overheating... is that a big problem? I guess I might look into installing a little fan inside?SDA 1C, SDA 2A, SDA SRS 2, CMT-340SE, Swan M200MKII, Swan D1080MKII, Behringer MS40
