You have Vintage Family pics of relatives that were in a Band or such?

As I had mentioned before My Grampa was in a Jazz Band up until the late 1960's.
This was when He (we) lived just outside Saint Louis Missouri.

Found this old pic the other day and tossed it in the scanner and did some Photoshop clean up.
I BELIEVE this dates to about the time I was born 1965 but not certain.
That's Grampa on the Piano.....I was told He was a descendant of Mendelssohn.
My Mom's whole side of the Family is from Germany...came over sometime in the 1800's.

:D I still have no idea what that animal was....can anyone tell me? That porcelain tiger, right next to the stuffed animal, is still in our house....I think.

Less than 48 hours ago, I found out that one of the closest aunts to our immediate family was a musical pioneer in China. This was totally out-of-the-blue. I recognized her name on a blog and apparently, back in the 1930s, she was part of a singing duo that combined Chinese songs, sung in Cantonese, with western instrumentation....amongst the first to do it this way. She's the girl pictures on the right in the 2 pictured shown in this blog....

Interesting fact about her....she always stayed with us when she comes to San Francisco from Hong Kong and have these long talks with my mom during late night hours. She would see Johnny Carson on TV and always say "Every time I come to the US, he's always on TV". Shortly after Johnny Carson's retirement from "The Tonight Show", she stopped visiting (due to advanced age) and she passed away about 10 years ago.

My dad played in "The Back To The Bible Blues Band" In college. I have their old recordings, transferred to the PC from an old rotting tape a few years ago. Wish I had pics of them together!

I'm sick as a dog with the flu.
I'm resting comfortably. I won't have to go to work until next week.
