This thread is a homage to the end of the Adam Carolla Show and all the morning entertainment that I will be missing from here on out.

The Adam Carolla Show was a syndicated morning radio program, which began airing on January 3, 2006 and ended on February 20, 2009. The show was produced by CBS Radio as part of its Free FM format, and was based out of KLSX in Los Angeles, which changed format to youth top 40. It was heard in a number of major metropolitan markets on the West Coast of the United States. [1]

On February 18th, 2009 it was confirmed that The Adam Carolla Show had been cancelled with the last show on Friday, February 20th 2009, as part of a format switch at Los Angeles flagship station KLSX to AMP FM, a new top 40 station.[2]. The show will continue to be made available via Westwood One for a month, in a 'best-of' version. However, Carolla plans to continue podcasting the show at adamcarolla.com.

I'm so bummed about this. I podcasted the show and listened to it during both ends of my commute. Really made the time fly.

Glad Adam is going to be podcasting on his own though, keeping things going. Uncensored and unedited I think it could really work out. Will miss all the drops from Bryan though.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Sirius/XM are trying to get rid of all their big names since they are running out of money.

I hope Sirius DOESN'T pick him up, because I refuse to pay for crappy satellite that's just going to go bankrupt. I'd rather pay a monthly fee just to download Carolla's podcast than pay for satellite. Seriously.

Plus, Top Gear USA just got put on hold too... :(

The studio segments for the pilot were taped on July 26, 2008 to generally favorable reviews citing close following of the UK version's format.[12]

NBC expected to have Top Gear premiere as a mid-season 2009 replacement[13] but, on December 11, 2008, it was revealed that NBC passed on the show and that the BBC is currently looking at cable networks to pick it up.[1]

As of now, Top Gear USA has apparently been canceled. This was confirmed by Jeremy Clarkson in an interview from Top Gear Live in Australia.

You seem to be making an assumption that he is a "big name".

He was syndicated in a dozen cities and has (had) in the millions of listeners (at least over a million). He's no Stern but he's a big enough name, whether you like him or not (which I take by your comment you do not).

I have no opinion of him since I only have seen him a couple of times on some silly show on SpikeTV. He seemed to be more stupid than funny but as I said that is my total experience...thus my question about him being a "big name".

His radio show is (was) more just ranting about day-to-day things. It's really not at all like the Man Show. FYI, I'm sure it isn't most people's cup of tea but I found it a lot of fun (and I was never a huge Man Show fan).

I swear, I dont get NBC, they run shows that generally blow, and cancel or punt the good ones. I really was looking forward to this.

Yep... This show was on Comedy Central back then. And when i think of the "The Man Show", girls jumping on trampolines comes to mind, but that's about it. lol

I'm not a huge fan of either of those guys to be honest (i've never heard Adam Carolla's show though). And whats up with Jimmy Kimmel Live, but previously recorded....lol

I know, ti's tough to improve upon the original Top Gear, but it would have been nice to see more cars that are available in the US, as well as actually have it in HD rather than having to scrounge for it on BBC America.

They even tried shopping the show to other networks and no one wants it. I"m guessing mostly because it's too expensive, though Jeremy Clarkson thinks it's because Americans just don't like cars (HA!)

From what I heard, they were dumping anyone who was any sort of a personality, and they just want no-name DJs to spin the records.

Definitely a little rough around the edges but I'm sure he'll work it out as time goes by.
