Need help finding a good amplifier

I'm looking for a decent amp for my system and have a couple questions before I purchase one. I want something that can handle an output of up to about 250 watts per channel. I'm kind of curious, do any companies make amplifiers with selectable outputs per channel? For example, I'm running RT20P towers up front with a CS350LS center and LS-f/x rears, soon to be RTi 12s or similar. The CS3350LS is rated at up to 250 watts, 300 for the towers and 100 for the rears.

Does anybody make an amplifier that enables you to select an output like say, 250 watts for fronts, 200 for center and the same for the rears? I have an Onkyo TX-SR606 on order and I don't need anything for the sub - I've got the MicroPRO 4000. I would just like some input on amps that cost a few hundred. I've looked for Outlaws but I can't find anything within my price range, just a few that are slightly higher. If there isn't anyone that makes a selectable output for a reasonable price, I think I will just have to stick with something that's rated around 200 watts (I'm not planning on keeping the LS-f/x hooked up with the amp, I don't want to blow those). Also, If I get a 7 channel amplifier, is it possible to bi-wire my towers or would that blow the drivers? If anyone has any ideas or input, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a pretty good deal, I almost bought this one. OBO so you may even do better than asking price.

This should be everything you need in an amp and more.

I hope you're not planning on hooking up an amp to that Onkyo 606. It's impossible...It doesn't have any pre-amp outputs. Just a heads up for you if that's what your plans were.

Also, it's not as if a 200 watt amp is going to be putting out 200 watts all the time. You'd be fine hooking up a 200 watt amp to a speaker that's rated for 150 watts, as long as you're not cranking it all the way to the moon.

Welcome Windsor. And Curt is right, cancel that order & step up to either the 706 or the 805/6. Otherwise you will have an amp & nothing to plug it into!

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize it didn't have any pre-amp outs. Luckily I can still cancel the order. I think I'm going to be eBaying the 706, they're not too badly priced there. As for that Sunfire amp, that seems like a pretty decent deal, but right now its a couple hundred more than I was looking to spend. Maybe this summer when I have some more cash I will check one of those out.

I can get a 705 pretty cheap and then hopefully in summer I can get an amp. I still have to get a new stylus for my turntable and I'm thinking a pair of RTi12s for my rears. Which other companies out there make a decent amp for a decent price?

Rti12s for rears are a waste unless you listen to allot of multichannel music. Save yourself some bucks, and use Rti4/6. If you must use floorstander as rears, then Rti8/10s at best. Cheaper amp, check out Adcom.

Outlaw Audio makes decent Amps with the budget in mind.

I also happen to have an older Outlaw Audio 750 amp for sale. Check the link in my signature..
